Bermondsey & Old Southwark Labour Party are holding a 'Women's Voices' event to mark International Women's Day on Sunday 8 March.

After a very successful first event with Labour's female councillors, this time we will be serving international refreshments while having a discussion on women and the general election and international women's issues.

All (men and women) are welcome and those with childcare responsibilities are welcome to bring their children - there will be a play area to one side of the room.

Please join us after the event at 2.00 pm at Surrey Quays station for campaigning with our parliamentary candidate, Neil Coyle, and colleagues from across London.

There will be delicious Indian lunch served at 1.30pm after the panel session. The panel will discuss the following questions (and you will have a chance to ask your own) :- a)What issues are being raised by women in the constituency in the run up to the election? b) How has the Woman to Woman tour been received? Will those women who didn’t vote in 2010 vote this time around? c) Are women in Southwark safer now than they were five years ago? How is the women’s safety charter progressing? d) Should there be a national, televised, debate between the senior women – on women’s issues - in the main three parties? e) Should we worry about the educational gap emerging between boys and girls, where girls are doing better in our schools than boys, both locally and nationally? What can we do about this? f) What key things would a Labour government really do for women? Would it do anything?
